How can I bribe my mom into horse riding lessons?!? I wanna go ride at a stable 30-40 mins. away from my house. I have to bribe her into them. I have to show taht I can get trasportation (not the bus), pay for it, learn about horses, and baisicly show her that I have a passion enough to do about anything to get these lessons! OR ELSE I HAVE TO WAIT 3 OR 4 YEARS UNTIL I CAN TAKE LESSONS WITH ALLLL OF MY MONEY PELASEEEEE HELPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!! living in hawaii 40 mins is a long way to drive (that one way) the lesson is a hour, then another 40 mins home. thats 2 hours and 20 mins!

Good horse-back riding places in the Cancun area? I have been riding since I was about five years old. I'm not going to bore you with my riding background but for all intensive purposes let me just say that my family and I are experienced riders. My mom would say that she isn't just because she doesn't want to have to ride a horse she has to handle. My boyfriend who is coming on vacation with us, has never really ridden a horse, this doesn't bother me because I'll baby sit him if I have to. I have done head to tail trail rides from Hawaii to Lake Tahoe to Ireland to the Bahamas. To a certain extent I know you have to go with the flow, if you can't find a place that will give you some freedom, like going faster then a walk or getting in the water at the beach, you just have to do what they will let you. All the posts I have perused seem to be from quite awhile ago. Does anyone have any up to date information on different horse back riding operations? Rancho Loma Bonita intrigues me, seems to have a little more for the experienced rider, I like an adventure and a challenge, I haven't ridden in a helmet since I was 16. Any other ranches you've experienced or any new experiences from Rancho Loma Bonita? I will be in Cancun with the family the first week in January, so if their is any seasonal experiences or really anything to give me a good idea of what I am getting myself into. Beautiful views and a fun experiences is really what I am looking for.

Places to ride horses on the beach in Hawaii? I'm going to Hawaii in about a year or so and I love to go horseback riding. I want to go to a place where you can ride horses on the beach and it has to be on the big island. Any where in the big island we haven't decided where we are going to stay on the big island. Also if any of you have been to Hawaii and know some cool places to go when there that would be helpful. Thanks

Does anyone know in the Hawaii area where someone can buy a good throughbred/ quarter horse mix.? The horse can not be green, needs to be older then five but younger then eight, and less then ten grand. It would be wonderful if he can jump, and if he can stop too. I also would like a fast horse, not some pony-ride slow horse.

Summer vacation-- Hawaii or France? I'm planning to go on vacation this summer. Which would be better, Hawaii or France? Airfare is the same for both.. I know it sounds like a stupid question but.. I've been to France already. If i go to France, it would cost so much more because of food, transportation, etc. But.. IT'S FRANCE ! How can you skip an opportunity like that? Are these perfect gifts for my ten year old girl, turning 11, soon?!? We have not had a real birthday in 2 years. I decided to get her a few things. Here is the list of things I got her for Christmas and what I will give her on her birthday. Tell me what you think: Christmas Presents from Friends and Family and me: Her Grandma gave her a IPod Classic, her grandmother actually gave IPod Classics to all of her Grandchildren with a $20.00 I Tunes gift card. She also gave the kids, a IDog and accessories for it. Grandmother: Her other Grandmother took her to the mall before Christmas Eve and let her make her own bear at build a bear workshop, her Grandmother said that was her only gift.. She surprised her on Christmas with a new American Girl Doll! (Her 10th one!) Grandfather: Her Grandfather went all out and bought her making kits, tie dying kits, you name it. He got her like 10 boxes and it had 3 per box. Grandfather: He gave her plenty of gift cards, money and a wallet. He surprised her with clothing and blankets too. Aunt: Her Aunt gave her a makeup kit. Lip Liner, Eye Liner, Eye Shadow, Cover Up, Lip Stick, Lip Gloss, Blush, you name it! It had different colors too... Uncle: Her Uncle gave her a new pair of Converse and Crocs. Aunt: Her Aunt gave her a Winter Wardrobe before winter, as one of her gifts, and for Christmas she gave her a board game and Uggs. Uncle: Her Uncle gave her different little things. He gave her candy too and a cake maker. Sisters and Brothers: He sisters and brothers put their money together to give her a new toys. You name it. Parents: We gave her toys, roller blades, and a scooter. We also gave her sleds and snowboards, but we gave it to her before Christmas because of the big snow storm. For all her siblings and her, we bought a Wii with like 30 games. Santa: Santa got her a few toys, a new oboe, a $100 dollar gift card to the mall, little things, school supplies, duct tape (different colors) board games, chalk, art set, jewerly maker, cosmetic maker, and a labtop. We also had new dvd's and video games. Here is her birthday list of things we already planned out, Her family calls in saying what they are going to get her, we give them money to buy it. They usually buy expensive things. Here is the list. The Grandmothers (4 because my parents are divorced and my husbands parents are divorced) are going to give her a Summer Camp Application to Horse Back Riding Camp. The Grandfathers (4) are going to give her a new pair of converse, a new pair of crocs, a new pair of uggs and some clothing for her. A new wardrobe. The Aunts (6) are going to give her a DSI. She got a nintendo from them last year, with like 25 games and she is going to get a DSI and 10 new games. She will have like 60 games now! The Uncles (6) are going to give her a new bike. Last year they split into 3 uncles per gift. One gift was a surf board, another was a dirt bike. Everyone in our family has ATV's, dirtbikes and surfboards, so... They also are giving her fun things for the beach, since we are going to Hawaii this summer from June 20th to August 10th. Her Horse Back Riding Camp is June 10th to June 15th and August 10th to August 15th. Brothers and Sisters (3) They are going to give her toys, and gift cards. They are also giving her art sets. Mom: I am giving her a new puppy. She has a lot of pets. We have fish, goats,pigs, sheep, donkeys, horses, chickens, cats, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, bunnies and we are missing a dog. Her siblings requested some of those animals and we raise them together. We also have small animals like frogs and hermit crabs. We run a family farm so we have to have all of the barn animals and her siblings requested small animals and cats. We are getting a parrot/finch/dove for our farm for a Valentines Day present. She always wanted a dog. Last week I found a cute, small puppy that was 1 week and she is ready on the day before her birthday. We adopted it 2 days ago. That is her surprise. We are also throwing a surprise party for family and another for friends :) Dad: Her dad is giving her a makeover to her room. He is painting her room and getting new furniture. He is also giving her a new television in her room with tivo and cable and a dvd player. We have family friends who are sending her little computer games, things like that. She is also recieving a expensive piggy bank... PLEASE DONT CALL HER SPOILED, WE DO THIS TO EVERYONE. EVERYONE LOVES HER AND WE LOVE THEM. SHE IS LIVING THE LIFE.

Destination Beach Wedding 2010... Any Ideas? I'm getting married in 2010 and since my fiance is from Nova Scotia and I am from BC, we would like to do a destination beach wedding anywhere from mexico and lower (or maybe Hawaii??). Needless to say, we are having trouble coming up with a place/venue/hotel. We would like it to be safe, clean and a spot where there is lots to do (ie. hiking, kayaking, horse back riding, etc). Any Ideas or personal experiences?

Is this a good summer vacation?-? We live in North Carolina. We will be spending our summer in Hawaii. Every two years we spend our whole summer in a few places. The other years- We stay home, we go one 1 vacation (small one), we go to places in the area and we play outside. This year- It is the summer where we spend time at a place for the whole summer. I am marrying this wonderful man who is 30. I am 26. He has two daughters ages 11 and 5. We are doing this- (EDIT: We will have another vacation, but it is split into two parts. We will spend Spring Break in Orlando doing nothing. We will miss one school week in May to go to amusement parks and different places. It is technically NOT our summer vacation.) This summer we are spending it in Hawaii. Except we will take tiny steps to get to each place at a time. We will be driving in a "fancy" bus to Tennessee. Nashville to be exact. We leave on June 10th. We will spend 5 days in Nashville. Getting horse back riding lessons, going to a dude ranch, going to a rodeo. It will be fun, especially the shopping. We will also drive to Pigeon Forge and go to Dolly World and one of those shows. And relax for 5 days before the big trip to California. Then on June 20th, we will ride to Oklahoma to go to an airport in the same bus. The bus is not like a school bus. It is like a tour bus, with comfy seats and lots of space. We will leave at around 4 in the morning and arrive at about 10 pm at night. We will spend 2 days at a hotel and rest, rest and rest. June 22, we will be flying to California. San Diego, to be exact. We will go to Sea World, Disney Land, Lego Land, and to the beaches. We will also spend 3 days in Los Angeles. We will go star hunting, go to the Chinese Theater and the walk of fame, we will go to the beaches. Then we will drive back to San Diego airport. June 30th- We will go to Hawaii. Maui. We will fly from San Diego, to there. We will arrive in Hawaii and settle in a hotel. In Hawaii we will go swimming, go to the beaches, get Hula Lessons, go to the spa, go scuba diving and everything in Maui. Even ziplining and going to a Luau. August 1- We will leave Hawaii. We will fly back to Mississippi and drive back. We will have our family car transported there. We will spend the rest of the summer going to different local places. How is this summer vacation?

Teen Summer Camps!? I want to go to a camp this summer! Preferably in Cali, because I live in hawaii and its easiest to get to. I'm fifteen, so a teen camp! Co-ed :] I'm not really into extreme sports and stuff like that, I'd really like if there were activities that we CAN do but aren't forced to do, like we don't have a set schedule, we can go swimming or play tennis or whatever when we want. Oh yeah! Swimming is a must, if it's a lake, the ocean, or a pool. It has to have a place to swim. Uhmm, overnight camp... about a week long? Rules aren't too strict, we should be aloud to have cell phones and ipods and fun stuff like that :] Something kinda like the Parent Trap camp, I guess ;P **No horse back riding!

Period While on Vacation? Hi everyone. Anyways, i'm on my spring break trip to hawaii right now, and i think i'm going to get my period while on my vacation. It totally sucks, and I really don't want it to ruin my vacation. We're going swimming practically all day tomorrow, tuesday, and wednesday. Also, on monday we are going horse- back riding, which sucks. So, my period is normally EXTREMELY heavy. I'm 13 and i've had it for about one and a half years. I know for swimming i should use a tampon, but i don't have any. Also, during my last period, i tried to use a tampon, and I couldn't get it in. It was really uncomfortable, but i followed all of the directions on the box and on other websites. Also, i'm getting white discharge for about the last two days, and i was wondering if that means my period is coming really soon. Please help:)

As a child he wanted to be a hero and go in the army because his ancestors were in the army too. George was well known because he would carry around two pistols with ivory handles. He attended the Virginia Military Institute for one year and went on to graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point on June 11, 1909. He was then commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the 15th cavalry Regiment. Patton later married a lady named Beatrice Ayer whom he had been going out with when he was in West Point In 1912. He represented the United States at the Stockholm Olympics in the first Modern Pentathlon. Originally open only to military officers, it was considered a test of the skills a soldier should possess. Twenty-six year old Patton did very well in the multi -event sport, consisting of pistol shooting from 25 meters, sword fencing, a 300 meter free style swim, 800 meters horse back riding and a 4-kilometer cross country run. He placed fifth overall, despite a disappointing development in the shooting portion. While most chose .22 revolvers, Patton felt the event's military roots garnered a more appropriate weapon, the .38. During the competition Patton was docked for missing the target, though he contended the lost bullet had simply passed through a large opening created by previous rounds from the .38, which left larger holes. After the Olympics. Patton kept busy taking lessons at the French cavalry School and studying French sword drills. In the summer of 1913, Patton received orders to report to the commandant of the Mounted Service School in Fort Riley, Kansas, where he became the school's first Master of the Sword. He designed and taught a course in swordsmanship while he was a student at the school. Patton's first real battle occurred when he served as a member of legendary General John J. Pershing's staff during the expedition to Mexico. In 1915, Patton was sent to Fort Bliss along the Mexican border where he led routine cavalry patrols. ”A year later, he accompanied Pershing as an aide on his expedition against Francisco "Pancho" Villa into Mexico. Patton gained fame from the press for his attacks on several of Villa's men.” Using his knowledge about tanks, Patton organized the American tank school in Bourg, France and trained the first 500 American tankers. He had 345 tanks by the time he took the brigade into the Meuse-Argonne Operation in September 1918. When they entered into battle, Patton had worked out a plan where he could be in the front lines maintaining communications with his rear command post by means of pigeons and a group of runners. Patton continually exposed himself to gunfire and was shot once in the leg while he was directing tanks. His actions during that battle earned him the Distinguished Service Cross for Heroism, one of the many medals he would collect during his lifetime. After WWI, Patton held a variety of staff jobs in Hawaii and Washington, D.C. He graduated from the Command and General Staff School in 1924, and completed his military schooling as a distinguished graduate of the Army War College in 1932. When the German Blitzkrieg began on Europe, Patton finally convinced Congress that the United States needed a more powerful armored striking force. “With the formation of the Armored Force in 1940, he was transferred to the Second Armored Division at Fort Benning, Georgia and named Commanding General on April 11, 1941. Two months later, Patton appeared on the cover of Life magazine”. What does my dream mean. Its a weird dream I know.? my dream is very weird they always are LOL.My dream was that I was an actor in a movie something to do with trasure and on the cast there was a bunch of these marine trainees that were like age 12( if you ever saw the lord of the flies it was like those boys.) and were going to act in the movie. During the movies taping I met this one boy whos name was Kleshel IDK why, but we became really close.We were filiming our last scene on this mountain cliff side and on a pirate ship. when the movie rapped everyone was saying bye to eachother. The cast is split in two the marines and the people who live near the recoriding area (Hawaii). I live in Hawaii and Kleshelis apart of the marines(the marines live far away) and all the locals were saying by to the marine kids but i was so sad that it was done that i didnt want to say bye so i climbed to the highest part of the ship that we were filming on and just watched everybody say goodbye and hug and stuff. The marines started to leave and they left on these little torpedo submarine things that held up to three people but they didnt ride inside of it they rode on top of it like a horse and when they were submerging i ran down the boat and jumped off and started swiming looking for kleshel and i found him on the last submarine and i told them to pull over. we came into this bay and they dropped me off and I said watchout for the sharks because there was two red hammer head sharks and one common looking shark. I was standing on the shore and i said bye I love you little brother and he stopped and looked at me like what the hell. Then it looked like he was continuing to go back under but he was just getting off the submarine and he started walking to me and he said so wheres my hug. And we started hugging then i started crying then he started then all the other cast member were there and they were hugging and crying LOL. Then this boy who i know in real life comes and his name is Shawn hes like a 12 year boy thats alo like a brother to me. he has an anger problem and always like to fight but i know he would never hit me. we used to be close in 2008 but i havent seen him at all untill like the past few weeks and i want to be like how we used to be i really miss him. well in the dream he comes and starts playing with a stingray and carrys it out of the water and for some raeson he starts getting mad and lets it sting other people including me. then i woke up weird i know LOL.

Is Wrangling Horses a suffiecient living? Okay, I'm fifteen and have been thinking a lot about what I'd like to do. I would really LOVE to become a horse wrangler at a dude ranch really anywhere (have no preferences). I do have a lot experience in this area of work, but I won't get into that lol or you'll have a mini novel on your hands ;] Anyways, I was wondering if year-round jobs, (or seasonal) are enough to make a decent living? I was also wondering if at the end of the (April, May, or June-Augest, Sept., or October) was the only seasons for Wrangling? If no one knows I can study it myself, but I'm really anxious to see what the deal is! Example: Could I got to work, lets say in Montana from May-August, then find a job in Florida from September-April? I know seasons probably aren't that long, but it's just kind of a rough example of what I'm trying to figure out. I just know that where I live, that when winter hits people head to Florida or Hawaii. So when it's winter here could I find a job where everyone else is fleeing? Follow the tourists? I would really like to see different areas of the U.S. so would following seasonal jobs around be the best, or signing on for year-round jobs and then moving every year or so? I have many different possibilities going around in my head, and I'm just trying to she light on a few that are a little more difficult to research at this time. Also another question is are there any possible wrangler positions in Kuai? Has anyone ever taken trail rides on the beautiful little island? haha Just curious =] Thank you to anyone who answers! One of the barns was great but the instructor moved to Hawaii. And now I have not ridden for a year and really miss it. I am hard working and miss being with horses. What is there to do in Hilo and Kona? I wanted to give you a little bit of a back ground on me so you can give me ideas on what i would like to do.....So i like 4x4 ing riding 4 wheelers i like to party some. im going to be on vacation so i want to have fun i like kind of like doing extreme things i surf in cali but im really not that interested in doing it in hawaii. Can you help me with the name of this movie? Mystery movie from the 90's? It's probably a TV movie about an "unsolved mystery".. The lead character is a girl named Shanon (i'm not quite sure) she has long curly dark hair. She marries a man who is "apparently" very nice and gentle. They move to a house in the country, then he starts acting weird, she finds out he was married with kids before, etc. And one day he brings her for a horseback ride in the woods and kills her, in what is "almost" the perfect crime. He gets away with it, pretending she fell from the horse and hit her head in a rock. Years later, with the help of her parents and the tv show "unsolved mysteries" they find the man in hawaii (sort of) and they send him to jail. Which way would you choose? I've made up my mind that i'm going to propose to my girlfriend. and i've narrowed it down to some ways that i think would be good ways to propose to her. here they are 1. well, shes a nurse and i was thinking that when she comes home from work i could dress up like a doctor and be waiting on my knee and when she walks in i could say "you'd fix my heart if you marry me" 2. i'm going to Hawaii for a job app and i could take her with me and write marry me in the sand 3. she was born and raised on a horse ranch so i was thinking i could set up champagne and the ring in an empty glass and we could ride out to the felid where its set up in 4. this one i kind of stole from on of the Kay jewelers commercials. One night when its storming i could get her sister to me in her garage and when lighting strikes i could get her sister to cut off the lights. my girlfriend get scared when the lights just go out sometimes and i could say "i'm right here and i always will be" and pull out the ring. those are really all the things i thought of. if you have any suggestions then please tell me. tell me which one you like best.
